Body found in metropark near Columbus

The Franklin County Coroner has identified the woman found dead in Scioto Grove Metro Park as missing Ohio State University student Reagan Tokes.

According to police, Tokes, a psychology major, was last seen leaving her job at Bodega, a cafe, restaurant and bar in the trendy Short North area of Columbus at about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday night.

Police say Tokes appeared to have died from gunshot wounds.

The Columbus Dispatch reported that it was unclear whether she had been killed at her workplace or at the park 11 miles away, but there was no shell casing found at the scene of discovery.

Columbus police have ruled Tokes' death a homicide, WBNS reported.

Tokes was set to graduate in May, the paper reports.

A police spokesman did not immediately return a Blade request seeking comment.

"We extend our heartfelt sympathy to her family and friends", Ohio State said in a statement.

Counselors will be available at the university from 5 p.m.to 10 p.m.in the Ohio Union's Alonso Family Room located in the Student Life Multicultural Center. Police urge anyone with information to call Ohio's Bureau of Criminal Investigations tip line at 1-855-BCI-OHIO.
