There are no specific details on a possible earlier meeting between the Russian and US presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, spokesman for the Russian president Dmitry Peskov said, RIA Novosti reported.

"We have no specific information regarding the possible meeting between Putin and Trump so far, we have not even considered the dates yet". The G20 summit is scheduled for early July in Hamburg, Germany.

"A meeting between the Russian and the U.S. president has been agreed on, intensive work on its agenda is underway, we intend to make the agenda positive", the Russian Senate speaker said.

Commenting on the White House statement, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Russia does not intend to return Crimea to Kiev.

While the two leaders spoke by phone a few weekends ago, Mr. Trump and Putin have never met and Mr. Trump has vowed since his presidential campaign to improve relations between their two nations.

While Trump has praised Putin in the past, the president tweeted earlier this month that he didn't know Putin and had "no deals in Russian Federation". "At the same time, he fully expects to and wants to get along with Russian Federation".

Trump's former national security adviser Mike Flynn resigned this week after he admitted to misleading the administration about his conversations with a Russian ambassador before the inauguration. Last week, Flynn denied discussing sanctions with Kislyak.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov was asked about the conversation Monday, but he declined to comment.

"We have already said that there have been none", Peskov told reporters.
