With the new live-action "Beauty and the Beast" starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens opening in theaters next week, Disney has released the music video for the movie's theme song, performed by John Legend and Ariana Grande. Noting that the film concludes with "a nice, exclusively gay moment", Condon told Attitude magazine, "LeFou is somebody who on one day wants to be Gaston and on another day wants to kiss Gaston".

"Although a theater in Alabama has refused to screen the movie after the Lefou revelation, and Russian Federation gave the film its most restrictive rating after speculation that it would outright ban it, Gad still urged that "this film is one of inclusiveness", and 'has something to offer everyone".

Criticism over Lefou's newfound sexuality hasn't just been limited to right-wing conservatives, however, in part because Disney's first confirmed openly gay character is a mere lackey who willingly takes the abuse of a man that doesn't share his feelings.

That prompted Josh Gad, who plays LeFou, to defend the movie's "inclusiveness". He's not even the only gay character.

Urine tests revealed that the child's system was littered with methamphetamine, benzodiazepine, and amphetamine. Frenette said that a quick fix was the only way to calm down Farruggia long enough for her to call for help.

It all works as a goof, and I found Gad effective, but if this is supposed to be an example of Disney's treatment of a gay character, then their view is offensive.

Vyacheslav Telnov, director of the Culture Ministry's cinema department, told Russian entertainment site, "We will issue the film distribution license without any problems". If true, that calculation is disturbing and misleading.

Win reserved seat passes for the advance screening of Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST Monday night March 13 at the AMC Mercado in San Jose. It should be seen and judged for that, not by some contrived PR-stunt.
