Pakistan call up teenage leg-spinner Shahdab Khan for Windies tests

Another leg-spinner Yasir Shah, who has taken 124 wickets in 23 test matches, will be Pakistan's first choice slow bowler.

"I think the focus of selection committee and all of us is that why can't two legspinners play in one match?"

Pakistan has a history of fielding two leg-spinners in a test match.

"The selectors may have had a reason not to pick Sohail for limited-overs matches but being the leading Pakistan Super League wicket-taker, Sohail surely should be brought back for the Test series".

Meanwhile, the Selectors announced a 16-man squad for their three-match Test series in the West Indies today.

Eighteen-year-old Shadab Khan has broken into the Pakistan Test squad, 10 days after making his T20 worldwide debut.

But lately, Shah has struggled outside sub-continent like conditions.

The statement further added that the Afghan team will leave for West Indies in the month of June as the first T20I match is expected to be played on 2 of June.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar Khan has indicated that Test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq could be assigned a directorial role with the cricket board post his retirement.

"I don't know Misbah's plan, but I have a feeling that it could be his last series", Ahmed said.
