The most powerful non-nuclear bomb ever used by the United States in combat was dropped on IS tunnels in Nangarhar province.

"If America wants to eliminate Daesh, it is very easy because they created this group."

Earlier, it was reported that dozens of ISIS militants had died as it smashed their mountain hideouts, with Afghan officials ruling out any civilian casualties despite the weapon's destructive power.

And former president Hamid Karzai accused the American military of using his country as a weapons testing ground.

However, they said they "did not have the information" on whether the mission was being planned during the previous Obama administration. It is the largest non-nuclear weapon ever used in combat by the USA military.

But how many women & children did the Afghanistan bomb kill?

Nicholson said the USA coordinated with the Afghan government on this operation.

The mountain fortress, located in the Achin district of Afghanistan, was reportedly heavily fortified and extremely hard for ground forces to reach, according to Afghan Gen. Daulat Waziri, spokesman for the Afghanistan Ministry of Defense.

Late Thursday, President Donald Trump told reporters at the White House that he was "so proud of our military".

As rumors usually are, the speculations grew as even Ouzounian chimed in on the rumors, making them combust like wildfire. She said that while she was talking to her kids about the movie, they simply asked her to take them to church.

The huge bomb has a blast yield equivalent to 11 tons of TNT.

Officials say the bomb did not kill any civilians, but it was felt by many; windows broke and walls rattled tens of miles away.

Mufti Khan, a resident of Achin in Nangarhar, said: "The whole house was shaking".

He praised the strike, saying killing ISIL fighters was a "positive move". Local governor Ismail Shinwari told AFP: "The explosion was the biggest I have ever seen".

Inamullah Meyakhil, spokesman for the central hospital in eastern Nangarhar province, said no dead or wounded had been brought to the facility from the attack. According to Nicholson, the group, known as Khorasan Province, is made up mostly of Pakistani and Uzbek militants, along with some Afghan fighters who defected from the Taliban. ISIL rarely admits losses after such attacks. The Taliban described the bombing as a heinous crime, arguing that such action will justify the narrative of Jihad.

The bomb was the second show of military might by US forces in the space of just seven days, following the missile attack on a Syrian government air base on April 7, in retaliation for alleged regime chemical attacks on civilians.

A senior American officer said the bomb was the right weapon for the job while an Afghan officer said that before the strike, joint forces had been unable to penetrate the region.

"This was the first time that we encountered an extensive obstacle to our progress", he said of a joint Afghan-US operation that has targeted ISIL since March.
