Even though White's assertion that investors are less focused on quarterly results and mores on the upcoming iPhone may be proven true, Apple still has a business to run between over the next few months - one that's being impacted by rumors. The iPhone 8, on the other hand, is expected to have a major design overhaul with horizontal edge-to-edge screen display. There will be the typical S refreshes for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, but also this anniversary iPhone 8. Barclays PLC downgraded Apple from an "overweight" rating to an "equal weight" rating and cut their price objective for the stock from $119.00 to $117.00 in a report on Tuesday, January 24th.

Apple has two events on the horizon, WWDC in June and a further event in the fall.

Apple doesn't need to sell the iPhone 8 and AirPods as a bundle, so it won't. Ltd. now owns 8,847,389 shares of the iPhone maker's stock valued at $1,000,197,000 after buying an additional 44,406 shares during the last quarter. Some reports suggest that there will be nearly negligible bezels on the upcoming iPhone 8 as Apple aims to take on the new-found wide-screen fad. It has been claimed elsewhere that Apple is hoping to embed a fingerprint reader into the display, but failing this it will likely be fitted to the back, like on the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Google Pixel. On average, equities analysts expect that Apple will post $8.95 EPS for the current fiscal year.

There have been rumors that Apple has been having trouble with keeping production on track with the next generation iPhones. Chassis of the handset is to be made of stainless steel. Sources speculate that a highly spec'd out iPhone 8 will be he start of the show. The report suggests that assembly units such as Foxconn, Pegatron and Winston are all ramping up recruitment and training of workers ahead of mass production of iPhone 8. And moreover the latest iPhones are already water resistant but still, Apple wants a physical technology that could take out excess water by itself.

In addition to the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus, it is expected that there will be an iPhone 8.

Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook mentioned in a recent conference call that their belief is that people are waiting for the next iPhone to come up. Probably not - but it's an interesting idea all the same! Even if the release is delayed by a month or two, the handset will nearly certainly be launched alongside the iPhone 7s range.
