Notably, the AAP has alleged that EVMs had been tampered with in the Punjab Assembly Elections and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) polls, both of which it lost. Bhardwaj displayed how on entering the code, the manipulator is able to completely change the outcome of votes for that machine.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday used a special sitting of the Delhi assembly to "expose" how electronic voting machines (EVMs) can be tampered with through a live demonstration, which was carried out by MLA and software engineer Saurabh Bhardwaj.

"I have an experience of 10 years in technology and engineering, and I had quit in 2013", the AAP MLA said at the begning of his "tampering master demonstration".

Sisodia said the issue of tampering of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) can not be brushed aside by merely terming it a technical snag. Further it said that the tampering allegations must be proven with a real machine. The code, he claimed, can be fed into a machine while casting vote.

"All it takes is 90 seconds", AAP MLA Saurabh Bharadwaj said while dem-onstrating to the House how secret codes can be us-ed to manipulate the EVMs.

He did not name the BJP but provided enough hints to insinuate that the Bharatiya Janata Party was the beneficiary. The EVMs used for polling are with the EC.

Responding to the Election Commission's dismissal of the EVMs being tampered, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said the former should hereafter provide their own EVMs.

Congress Delhi Unit chief Ajay Maken today reprimanded Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for running away from issues which actually concerned the citizens of Delhi in the Special Assembly session and sticking to its EVM tampering conspiracy debate, "When AAP called Special Assembly Session, we expected corruption charges against the CM and problems faced by people of Delhi be discussed", Maken tweeted.

"What they (AAP) used is a prototype..."

"All it takes to rig an EVM is to change the motherboard".

The Election Commission, which maintains that EVMs can not be programmed to favour any party, did not officially react. Later, in the display panel, it turned out that votes went to the BJP.

"It was a drama enacted by the AAP to divert attention of the public from the allegations of bribery and forgery in funding", Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari said.

"(EVM tampering) is risky for democracy and the country.

The AAP's attempt to whip up the EVM issue in the state Assembly where it has 66 of the 70 seats, comes at a time when the party is in the eye of a political firestorm over its sacked minister Kapil Mishra's allegations of corruption against Kejriwal and minister Satyendar Jain.
