Apart from the thrill of joining yet another prolific, highly visible franchise, there's another thrill to be found for Williams in this project: in a way, it's yet another tie to bind her with her on-screen sister, Sophie Turner. Both Williams and Taylor Joy are incredible actresses, so I can't wait to see what they bring to the X-Men universe! Williams will play Wolfsbane, a Scottish girl whose werewolf-like powers are in conflict with her religious beliefs.

Fox's long-awaited X-Men spinoff New Mutants is finally casting up. An alien named Warlock will also pop up in the film.

"A$3 girl who has learned sorcery and uses teleportation discs to travel".

None of this casting news comes as a surprise, as conversations with both actresses began past year.

Kellyanne Conway says Anderson Cooper eye roll was sexist
When confronted by BuzzFeed about her support of a white nationalist, she claimed she didn't do it and didn't know who did. Conway also earlier this year talked about the fictional "Bowling Green massacre" during an interview.

Fox is making serious efforts to find ethnically appropriate actors, conducting wide searches for a Native American to play Moonstar and a South American for Sunspot.

Although this fulfills previous rumors of the two being cast for New Mutants, THR's Borys Kit tweeted separately that a third rumored casting - Nat Wolff as Cannonball - is "not happening". According to the Hollywood Reporter, production is being aimed to start this July as New Mutants was officially scheduled for a 2018 release.

New Mutants is pitched as a YA take on the X-Men series, following a group of students as they navigate teen angst and mutant powers. Boone and his long-time writing partner Knate Gwaltney penned the script. Details on the plot are being kept under lock-and-key, but it's expected to be a loose adaptation of the Demon Bear Saga. There's no word yet on which individuals might be up for those roles, but with Williams and Taylor-Joy now locked in, expect the rest of the cast to fill out shortly.
