When asked about this, Conway defended Trump's decision, stating that the president had lost confidence in the FBI director after newly-appointed Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein recommended that Comey be fired for making serious mistakes during his handling of the investigation.

The CNN anchor's brief roll of the eyes during an interview with Conway this week has gone viral and The White House advisor is not amused.

Conway, having had a chance to see Cooper's eyeroll for herself, suggested to "Fox and Friends" Thursday morning that Cooper's treatment of her amounted to sexism. He wondered why the administration anxious over Comey's handling of an investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's email server when they praised him for it on the campaign trail. And the fact is that they showed all these clips and it showed candidate Trump in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and I said "Hey, thanks for the trip down memory lane and talked about winning Michigan, ' and then he rolled his eyes", Conway said. Can you imagine rolling your eyes. Conway's response? "I think you're looking at the wrong set of facts here". Cooper played various clips of Trump defending Comey's controversial action, which many say cost Clinton the Electoral College and the election (she walloped Trump in the popular vote).

The once ubiquitous Trump spokeswoman has been keeping a decidedly low profile in recent months - so much so that "Saturday Night Live" did a skit last week asking "Where in the World is Kellyanne Conway?".

When confronted by BuzzFeed about her support of a white nationalist, she claimed she didn't do it and didn't know who did. Critics immediately slammed Conway for her disrespect, but she said she was just trying to capture a photo from a certain angle.

"There are any number of issues and events that brought the president to this decision", she said.

Conway also earlier this year talked about the fictional "Bowling Green massacre" during an interview.

Cuomo pushed back on the implication that Trump let Comey go because he falsely testified about one of Hillary Clinton's top aides.
