Washington (CNN) - Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper issued a stern warning Sunday about the state of the USA government after President Donald Trump's decision to fire FBI Director James Comey last week, saying he thinks U.S. institutions are "under assault". But quickly Spicer jumped from the bushes just outside the press room to reclaim his spot, pushing Sanders aside.

Just before the sketch ends, McCarthy's Spicer exclaims, "I had a good run!"

"Have you ever told me to say things that aren't true?" an exhausted Spicer asked Trump, played by Alec Baldwin.

The sketch next addressed questions over the firing of Comey, amid an ongoing investigation between Trump's links suspected Russian attempts to influence the United States election.

And it did: Guest host Melissa McCarthy returned as Sean Spicer, riding a motorized press room lectern through the streets of NY, before submitting to a passionate kiss from the commander in chief.

Two sketches on Saturday mixed political zingers with risque remarks, questions about Trump's mental stability and a moment that might make its two subjects uncomfortable.

"Is this like "The Godfather" when you kiss me an no one sees me again?"

It's a move that had Trump and Spicer soon trending on Twitter, with folks writing about how much the SNL kiss might provoke the "Real Donald Trump" on Twitter.

Russia Interior ministry hacked in worldwide crisis — NHS cyber attack
Pyotr Lidov, a spokesman for Megafon, said Friday's attacks froze computers in company's offices across Russian Federation . Telefonica announced the attack had been limited to its internal network and clients or services had not been affected.

Trump later added: "I've got the Republicans in the palm of my hand" - and out walks Paul Ryan, played by Mikey Dee.

"I'm famous, it's OK", Baldwin said, in a reference to the leaked 2005 video where Trump said he could get away with grabbing women because he's famous.

Trump asks Holt for his undying loyalty, and then reminds everyone that he won the election "fair and square".

"Only since you started working here", Baldwin-as-Trump replied, before asking her to kiss him.

SNL cast Aidy Bryant as Sarah Huckabee Sanders, with Sanders as the potential threat to Spicer's job.

So when Spicer, like everyone else, saw clips surfacing Friday morning of Melissa McCarthy dressed as him driving around New York City on a motorized podium (made by a Montgomery county company), he probably knew to avoid watching Saturday Night Live this week. "Okay here's Trump. He's the biggest one, and the most handsome", he says.

Reporters can't help but ask Sanders (beg her, really) to take over Spicer's position full time.

McCarthy/Spicer then joins the news conference in progress where she/he insists that the president was telling the truth about why he had fired FBI Director James Comey.
