Los Angeles is competing with Paris for the right to stage the 2024 sports extravaganza.

"Our friends of Paris 2024 presented us with an exceptional and well-detailed bid presentation", Patrick Baumann, chair of the commission, told a news conference.

Los Angeles and Paris await their Olympic inspectors this week already seen as winning options for the 2024 Summer Games.

LA2024 chairman Casey Wasserman hosted a 70-member International Olympic Committee delegation for dinner at his home Wednesday night.

"I think any city would have to look at the terms of the rule change, what a 2028 award means", Garcetti said. "2024-2028 is not a matter of discussion".

SYRIA: De-escalation zones chance for rebels to reconcile, says Assad
Syrian rebels have ruled out respecting the safe zones, though Russia, Turkey, Iran, and the Syrian government will respect them. The primary objective of de-escalation is supposed to be to allow humanitarian aid to flow through to civilians.

"But I look at that as much for Paris as I look at it for L.A. That if you can create winners instead of so many losers, that's good for the movement". "We're going to show the International Olympic Committee what we can spend the next seven years doing instead of pouring time, money and concrete into controversial and costly construction", Wasserman said. "We have already enough to do with that".

Pressed by the media on the matter, the Paris team and Baumann said only 2024 was being assessed.

Just hours after French President Emmanuel Macron was inaugurated a short distance from the Hôtel Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel where the Commission and Paris 2024 were conducting their closed-door meeting, bid Co-Chair Bernard Lapasset confirmed that the President would meet with the group to exchange questions Tuesday morning.

Garcetti said Trump voiced his support for the bid during a phone call in December.

Other representatives of this panel, who have not yet been announced, will be divided between organisations responsible for financing Games-related projects on a proportional basis depending on how much they are contributing.

When Garcetti was asked by a reporter from Africa how Trump's restrictive stance on visas would impact athletes and journalists traveling from the continent, he said he had assurances from the administration and Congress that there would be no issues.

"That history is here and we want to repeat that and have it again", added Felix, who is the only female track and field athlete in Olympic history to win six gold medals. "We've been very impressed by their expertise". "We saw that the 1984 Games, whether it was venues or people, impacted their lives". "We have two cities with a wonderful Olympic spirit".
