"I wouldn't say it was normal, it was her normal, so she knew no different", she continued about describing Avielle's visits with her dad. "He said that Aaron was found in his cell and he was deceased, he was being transferred to the hospital and that's when I said immediately that I was coming; he told me to wait for the medical examiner and I wasn't taking that for an answer".

When asked if she believed her fiancee was guilty of Lloyd's murder, Jenkins-Hernandez said, "I truly don't".

Shayanna also indicated she was completely shocked, thought it was a "hoax", when she received the news of his death.

"Everyone has their own choice in friends", Jenkins-Hernandez said.

Jenkins-Hernandez made the comments during an interview with Dr. Phil that's set to air in a two-part special May 15-16.

Hernandez was serving a life sentence when, authorities say, he was found dead in his cell at the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center on April 19, 2017.

A MA judge last week overturned that conviction, citing a state legal principle that allows a verdict to be vacated if the defendant dies before he has exhausted the appeals process.

It has also been reported that Hernandez spent at least two weeks planning his suicide, going so far as to give away his possessions, and carried it out despite being acquitted of two more murder counts just five days before he took his life.

Good chance for Middle East peace deal
These elements "have created an opportunity that coincides with our new and unconventional American president", he said. Trump , while sounding hopeful about a peace deal, warned that "any agreement can not be imposed by the United States".

When McGraw asks her if he was a gang member, she replied, "Not from my knowledge", adding that she may not have known if he was.

"He was very positive, so excited to come home", she recalled.

Some inmates have said Hernandez had become increasingly spiritual during his time in prison, but Jenkins-Hernandez said the bible verse didn't sound like Hernandez and he'd never mentioned it to her.

Jenkins Hernandez said she could find no such clue in their last conversation.

"Probably not, to be honest with you, but that's not the Aaron that I know", Jenkins-Hernandez said. I think that if he would have done something like this, it would have been at his worst, and I felt like it was looking so bright.

Jenkins-Hernandez expressed doubts about the investigation into Hernandez's death, saying the findings didn't seem "believable". "I don't think this was a suicide, knowing him".

"I can read it over and over and over again and I'm still at the same place where I read it, I don't feel like there's any progression".

His death has been ruled a suicide by the Worcester district attorney's office and the case closed.
