Plane with New York CEO, 3 others, missing in Bahamas

"We're searching as long as we think we can find them alive", U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer Eric Woodall said, reports The New York Post.

The plane was en route from Puerto Rico to of Titusville, Florida, when USA air traffic control lost all contact with it east of Eleuthera island about 1:30 p.m. Monday, the Coast Guard and the Federal Aviation Administration said.

On the plane were New Yorkers Jennifer Blumin and Nathan Ulrich, along with Blumin's sons, age 4 and 10.

The US Coast Guard said there was "no indication" of bad weather when the plane went missing.

The plane was en route from Puerto Rico to the small city of Titusville on the east coast of Florida when authorities lost contact Monday.

Two cutters, a helicopter and an airplane have been dispatched to the area to search for Hellman. Communication was reported to be lost at 24,000 feet with a speed of 300 knots.

Nathan Ulrich, 52, of Lee, New Hampshire, was listed as the pilot of the plane, which is owned by Blumin. Ryan Kelly, a Coast Guard spokesman, told ABC7.

"Her family is working with investigators and we politely ask that you respect their privacy at this time", a Skylight Group spokesperson said.

Ulrich also is the ex-husband of actor Rae Dawn Chong, daughter of Tommy Chong, who tweeted about his disappearance.

Customs and Border Patrol and the Royal Bahamas Defense Force are assisting in the search.

"I am sad and in shock", she wrote.
