"The hype over Iran's missile capability is due to their (enemies) spite and anger about this element of power in Iran", Khamenei said to commanders of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps.

The Leader reiterated that the era of hit and run has ended, reminding the enemies that they might begin a war against Iran, but the decision to end it would not be theirs.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's comments came as the country's intelligence minister said his agents already disrupted one plot to cause disruptions.

"The era of hit and run is over and they (the enemy) may be the starter but they can not be the finisher", Ayatollah Khamenei further noted.

The leader also called on the military and security officials to prepare to tackle measures taken by the enemy aimed at undermining security in Iran.

As regards the enemies' mid-term objective, the Leader referred to the attempts to harm Iran's economy and destroy people's livelihood.

Turning to the upcoming presidential polls, Ayatollah Khamenei described elections as an issue that could either raise Iran's status or result in weakness and create trouble.

"If a dereliction is made and some pave the way for people's disappointment, the country will definitely suffer", he was quoted as saying.

From a former president disobeying the supreme leader to open discussion of a 1980s mass execution, Iran's presidential election is pushing the boundaries of what can be discussed and done there, a small but noticeable shift in the country's clerically overseen polls.

Khamenei is also unhappy with Rouhani's economic performance and said the government should have done more to tackle unemployment.

To protect the country from the enemy fulfilling its goals, the Leader urged implementing the outlines of the "resistance economy" and spurring "national manufacturing and job creation".

Six candidates, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Ebrahim Raisi, Mostafa Aqa-Mirsalim, Hassan Rouhani, Eshaq Jahangiri, and Mostafa Hashemitaba, are running in the race.
