A large sinkhole has formed in front of Mar-a-Lago, the Palm Beach estate belonging to President Trump.

One Twitter user posted a recent political cartoon depicting Mar-a-Lago as a sinkhole receiving an endless stream of tax dollars.

"A 4' x 4' sinkhole has formed on Southern Boulevard directly in front of Mar-a-Lago", read a traffic alert from the town of Palm Beach.

Others questioned if the sinkhole hadn't been mistaken for something else.

"It appears to be in the vicinity of the newly installed water main". Utility workers secured the area and would likely excavate the site on Monday to find the issue.

Defense stocks at record highs on Trump-Saudi deal
The joint venture will provide support for both military and commercial helicopters. Lockheed Martin garnered a substantial portion of the massive deal.

The president has spent seven weekends at Mar-a-Lago since taking office, but it is now closed for the summer.

Not included in the reports are any of the expenses for Secret Service protection or support vehicles provided by the Department of Defense, suggesting that the grand total is significantly higher.

President Trump is now in Israel as part of his first trip outside of the USA since becoming President.

Sinkholes, which are common in Florida, are caused by water erosion.
