Boys outshine girls in CBSE Class X results, pass percentage dips

Trivandrum scored the highest with a pass percentage of 99.85 whereas Madras and Allahabad scored 99.62 per cent and 98.23 per cent respectively.

The results of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) class X were announced today and to everyone's surprise, a hyderabadi boy secured 10 grade points in all the six subjects.

Past year 1496066 students have appeared for the exam and 96.21% qualified in the exam. CBSE board conducts post exam counselling till 11 June 2017.

Students can also check their CBSE board exam results by sending an SMS. Overall, boys outdid girls by 0.9 per cent this year bettering last year's results when girls beat boys by close to 10 per cent.

The Board will issue the mark sheets and pass certificates to the students on website, but it is still advised to the students to save the mark statement obtained online. This is the manifestation of the hard work, determination, focus and commitment of students and the guidance and support of their parents, teachers and schools.

The CBSE Class X results today threw up more than one surprise with the pass percentage dropping by over five percent since past year and boys outperforming girls, a marked shift from previous batches. Students appeared for Class XII examination at 10,678 centres in India.

CBSE 10th result 2017 has been released. From a pass percentage of 98.40 in 2013, the number slumped to 91.76 per cent a year ago.

The biggest number of candidates, 399, took the class X exam at Delhi Public School (Bopal).

The massive drop in pass percentage left principals of private and government schools confused as they claimed that their pass percentage had only improved.

As per the norm, CBSE on its cbseresults.nic.in said "CBSE - Class X Examination - To be announced on 03rd June 2017" and the link was made active as of 1:30 am Saturday, June 3, 2017. Students can visit the official website and check the grades.
