The New Spider-Man Game Won't Let You Kill Anybody

Previously announced games like the new God of War showed off the angry Spartan Kratos in all his anger and violence while embarking on a journey with his young son.

This year's lineup may seem sparse in retrospect with Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. If the games of E3 did not appeal, there are more to come.

Sony made a big splash at E3 by showing off a PlayStation 4 version of Shadow of the Colossus, but what is the game they showed, exactly? The game already debuted a year ago on the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. This led to a view from many in the gaming community that the console maker saw its huge console lead as a reason not to entertain cross-play with Microsoft's Xbox LIVE network.

There will be an open-world element to the game as well in which players will be free to sling their way across the city. Though the game was already given an HD re-release on the PlayStation 3, this appears to be a full-blown remake for the PlayStation 4.

An upcoming update to Minecraft will introduce online multiplayer across PC, Xbox, mobile and Nintendo, but not PS4.

Mr Layden said PlayStation was at the "forefront" of interactive entertainment because of its consoles and VR, and that "it has never been a better time to be a gamer".

I'll be honest - Knack 2 looks just about as bland as the original game. With Gamescom, Tokyo Game Show, Paris Game Week, The Game Awards and PlayStation Experience happening this year, we may yet get our sneak peeks.

Fans of the Marvel universe have been craving a superhero game that we could really sink our teeth into, and it looks like Insomniac might have finally given us exactly what we have been asking for.
