Energy Secretary: US To Aim For Energy Dominance

Earlier this week during a televised press conference, Secretary Perry did make the case for keeping up with the rest of the world on nuclear technology, but on closer inspection his emphasis was more focused on keeping the nation's R&D resources up to snuff rather than any compelling need to increase the nation's nuclear generating capacity.

At issue is Trump's past claims that climate change is a "hoax" that was invented by the Chinese 'in order to make USA manufacturing non-competitive'. In several different ways, Udall asked this question: "What is the official Trump administration position on accepting the scientific evidence that manmade climate change is occurring?"

NBC reporter Peter Alexander brought up the remarks that Perry, then a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, made in July of 2015, shortly after Trump launched his bid for the White House. Muslim Communities in Wisconsin and Milwaukee say they are troubled by the decision. Additionally, the administration could expand opportunities for exporting USA energy by seeking to undo an Obama-era ban on the Export-Import Bank financing coal plants overseas. "Climate is changing. Man is having an impact on it", Perry said Tuesday.

"S$3 kepticism and debate are always welcome and are critically important to the advancement of science", the letter said.

"I mean, what is the other side?"

The pursuit of nuclear energy has environmental implications. "I've said that time after time - the idea that we can't have an intellectual conversation about just what are the actual impacts?"

The president is scheduled to speak on the topic of energy exports Thursday.

"But he's been here for six months", Alexander said as Perry looked to another reporter for a question. "But no reasonable person can deny the thumb, or even the whole hand if you will, that's been put on the scale in favor of certain political outcomes".

Earlier this month, the EIA said that the USA stayed on top as the world's largest producer of petroleum and natural gas hydrocarbons in 2016 for the fifth straight year, ahead of Russian Federation and Saudi Arabia. And making deeper market changes to better compensate nuclear power plants for the reliable, zero-carbon electricity they offer depends on action by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, which lacks a working quorum. Coal, nuclear vie for supremacy in key Energy Department study GOP senators want surveillance requests from FBI Russia probe MORE (R-Iowa), a major wind energy proponent, sent Perry his own letter, calling the study "hastily developed" and one that "will not be viewed as credible, relevant or worthy of valuable taxpayer resources". He also said he is reaffirming "our commitment to clean energy".

"An energy dominant America means self-reliant".

"We're trying to absorb and digest" what dominance is, she said.

This week is the Trump Administration's "energy week" in which the President and energy agencies and officials will be presenting plans how to create more energy jobs at home and boost the US influence on the global energy markets. The guest list includes representatives from the oil and gas sector, utilities and the nuclear power industry.
