Patton Oswalt is engaged to Meredith Salenger

Cue the wedding bells!Patton Oswalt is engaged to his girlfriend, Meredith Salenger, a rep for the actor confirms to Us Weekly.

Meredith also took to Instagram to make a joke about the engagement news. She maced me but said yes later.' Slave I and Padawan are Star Wars references.

She captioned the snap: "Once upon a time... in 2008... at my friend's wedding..." I caught the bouquet.

The couple has been sending signals about their intentions in the last week, with Oswalt quipping over the weekend, "Aw, it's like we're already married!" after Salenger razzed him on Twitter.

The Young Adult star and Salenger went public with their relationship last month, when they hit the red carpet for the Baby Driver premiere hand in hand.

The news comes just fifteen months after the passing of Oswalt's wife, Michelle McNamara, who died unexpectedly in her sleep in April 2016 at age 46. Oswalt and McNamara have an 8-year-old daughter, Alice.

He won an Emmy past year for his comedy special Patton Oswalt: Talking for Clapping.

Just two days earlier, Salenger had tweeted a photo of their hands intertwined on Instagram, writing, "I'm super in love, guys".

"They are over the moon happy and are excited to start their lives together", a source tells Us of the happy couple.

Now 47, the Harvard-educated actress has amassed an impressive list of film and television credits, including roles in Village of the Damned, Lake Placid, Hollywood Heights, and The Kiss.
