This means we will see world's first Holographic smartphone at least by March 2018, a few months after Apple's iPhone 8 and Samsung's Galaxy Note 8 hit the stores.

The holographic phone will be compatible with RED's cameras like EPIC, Scarlet, and Weapon.

RED is a pretty well-known camera company, especially amongst hard-core YouTubers like Marques Brownlee. The company became known internationally and Steve Jobs became a household name across the globe.

The Hydrogen One features a 5.7-inch display that is able to toggle between normal 2D display and holographic multi-view for 3D content and interactive games. The screen is, according to the company, capable of displaying "holographic RED Hydrogen 4-View content (H4V)", "stereo 3D content" and "2D/3D VR, AR (augmented reality) and MR (mixed reality)". The display will be the limiting factor, RED claims, already cautioning that it's unlikely to be able to meet predicted demand and that subsequent pricing may rise. That's the Hydrogen One, a smartphone made by camera maker RED that doesn't exist.

'Game of Thrones' is coming to Hulu
Subscribers who purchase the HBO add-on through Hulu will also gain access to HBO NOW through their Hulu account. Hulu officially launched its live TV service in May.

In addition to the holographic display, the Hydrogen One is also a modular smartphone that will allow users to utilize the device with various attachments. "No one wants to drag around another piece of gear that has to be charged every day", said Jim Jannard, RED chairman to Forbes. "Lenticular display dramatically lowers resolution, can not be turned off for standard 2D content, only works in one direction (usually landscape), has color crosstalk... to name just a few issues".

At the same time, there's a new H3O algorithm that RED promises will turn regular stereo audio into multi-dimensional sound. "The flawless match for holographic H4V or just listening to your favourite tunes", read company's blog post. The 3.5mm headphone jack is still present and is accompanied by what appears to be a USB Type-C port. This is also definitely for camera pros.

Then again, sometimes we just need to take a leap of faith.

The Hydrogen One will allegedly feature a modular expansion system, which connects to a proprietary high-speed data bus. It's reminiscent of the Moto Z's Moto Mods.
