Stirling confirmed that Causey left Lieber on 8 p.m. July 4, again using a makeshift dummy like he did in a prison break more than a decade ago.

Kevin Tamez, a 30-year law enforcement veteran who consults on prison security as managing partner of the New Jersey-based MPM Group, said he wasn't aware of any other us prison escapes aided by drones.

Causey was serving life sentences in the Liebert Correctional Institution in Ridgeville, about 48 km northeast of Charleston, for holding a Columbia lawyer and his family at gunpoint in their home in 2004. Mr. Causey was recaptured in Texas Friday.

Like the first time, Causey, 46, fooled guards by putting a dummy in his bed.

WIS-TV in Columbia reported Causey and another inmate used a trash truck to escape the Broad River Correctional Institution in 2005. "They are physically incarcerated, but they are no longer virtually incarcerated", Stirling said during his press conference.

When authorities nabbed Causey early Friday morning as he slept in a motel, he had a pistol, a shotgun, four cellphones and $47,000 in cash.

Manchester United Legend Wayne Rooney Agrees to Join Everton
Stories on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning suggest that Rooney will rejoin Everton , either on a permanent or loan deal. Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney will depart the Europa League Champions for a return to childhood club Everton .

"Everyone who assisted him, we intend on bringing to justice as well", Keel said. He went on to say investigators believe a drone was used to deliver the cell phone and other contraband necessary for Causey to escape. They were caught because they ordered pizza and acted bizarrely towards the delivery woman, who then told her husband. Therefore, officials believe it is unlikely the tools Causey used to escape were thrown over into the yard.

It was Causey's second prison escape in 12 years. Corrections Director Bryan Stirling said the man used a cell phone to get help from the outside.

Brewer was found two years later, hanging from a bed sheet in his cell.

Causey's latest escape will add to a criminal record that is almost eight pages long and goes back to just after he turned 19, according SLED records. After a 9:00 a.m. count came up short, officials did a roll call and realized the two were missing.

Gov. Henry McMaster echoed Stirling in calling for the Federal Communications Commission to allow for the jamming of cellphone signals at state prisons.

An ongoing internal review of what led to the escape has resulted in one Lieber employee being fired, Corrections spokeswoman Sommer Sharpe said.
