Tom Holland Wants This 'Spider-Man' Alum To Play Uncle Ben

In Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man, Martin Sheen was in the same role to Andrew Garfield's version of the webhead.

Tom Holland is getting everything right about this!

It's been a few years since Tobey Maguire has starred in the Spidey universe, but he's not that old.

When asked about who would play Uncle Ben, Tom didn't hesitate at all.

Holland recently spoke to BBC Radio 1 to promote the film.

As of the publishing of this article, Maguire is 42 while Tomei is 52. In the MCU, we now have a younger Aunt May, so why can't we have a younger Uncle Ben? (And they're just as diverse as a movie about a kid from Queens ought to be.) It gives the film a more organic approach, adding flavor to the plot itself and adding Robert Downey Jr.'s swagger completed the entire Spiderman: Homecoming experience.

Insomniac's Spider-Man is set for release on PlayStation 4 in 2018. Films such as Doctor Strange and Ant Man could also be on the underdog superhero side, but when it came to Spidey- a guy who's already had two previous incarnations and five films in the last 15 years- things were different. It certainly aims to have a lot of fun with the character, which it does succeed at but there's more than just that. Contrast to the first is that the character can remove the mask, then you'll begin to see his true face. The film balances these elements really well. So far, it looks great.
