Barry Levinson will direct the movie.

HBO says the film will focus on Paterno dealing with the fallout from the child sex abuse scandal involving his former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky.

Paterno became Penn State's football coach in 1966 and coached until he was sacked in 2011 after the revelations that Sandusky, longtime defensive coordinator, was arrested on 52 counts of child sexual abuse that occurred between 1994 and 2009. Riley Keough (The Girlfriend Experience) will play reporter Sara Ganim, who first brought this story to light for The Patriot News as a 23-year-old. Other executive producers he will be working with include Jason Sosnoff, Tom Fontana, Edward Pressman and Rick Nicita. The film was written by Debora Cahn and John C. Richards and David McKenna.

Abigail is confirmed as Street Fighter V's next character
Interesting characters from the old games, such as Guy, Cody and Rolento, have joined the roster of several Street Fighter titles. Even so, it doesn't rule out the possibility of more fan favorites coming to Street Fighter 5 through the game's Season 3 DLC.

This isn't the first time that Pacino is playing a football coach. The actor was previously tied to the cable network for the biopic, "You Don't Know Jack". Pacino also appeared in "Angels in America". Check out the photo from the film, which is now in production, in the gallery below.

Al Pacino will star as Paterno in the still untitled film, and HBO on Monday released the first look at Pacino as Paterno.
