LeT's hand in Yatra terror attack confirmed: J&K Police

The Police have identified Aizaj Wagey, Zahoor Ahmed and Bilal Ahmed Reshi who helped these four to make the Attack successful by providing them Shelter, Logistics and vehicles.

The police also reiterated that the attacks were carried out by Lashkar terrorists.

IGP said that investigation conducted has established that these accused persons in association with four militants namely Ismail, Maaviya, Furqan and Yawar Bashir carried out the attack.

A group of terrorists, on July 10, had targeted a bus filled with pilgrims destined for Amarnath Yatra. Munir told that the Pakistani terrorist Ismail of the LeT had carried out the attack in collaboration with two other terrorists.

Three suspected militants were killed during an alleged gunbattle with Indian armed forces on Saturday morning in northern Jammu-Kashmir's Sopore area, according to Indian army. The accused have been sent to police custody.

Police had constituted a SIT led by Deputy Inspector General (south Kashmir) Swayam Prakash Pani to probe the attack on the pilgrims.

SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) - Three militants of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant outfit were killed and a policeman was wounded Saturday in a fierce gunfight in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said.

But it had to retreat after unsuccessfully waiting at Botengoo in Anantnag as there was no movement of any CRPF or pilgrims' vehicle "in isolation" in the area that evening.

He said train service on Badgam-Srinagar in the central Kashmir to Anantnag-Qazigund in south to Banihal in Jammu region was suspended again today. "Shaukat" was for yatra bus and "Bilal" was for CRPF bus.

Khan said they have already zeroed in on the four actual perpetrators of the attack and will "neutralise" them soon.

It took the authorities three days to regain full control of the city and New Delhi has long said there is evidence that "official agencies" in Pakistan were involved in plotting the attack. The attack evoked widespread condemnation across the Valley and outside.
