Gaza Rocket Hits Near Southern Israeli City of Ashkelon

An Israeli official said Israel's air force struck Hamas positions in the Gaza Strip overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday, injuring three Palestinians.

Army spokesperson also said that the F35 aircrafts were used for the first time in an attack on Gaza. "The IDF holds the Hamas terrorist organization exclusively responsible for the occurrences in the Gaza Strip", the IDF Spokesperson said in a statement.

Hamas spokesman, Hazem Qasem, rejected Israel's claims.

But in an Arabic-language Facebook post late Monday, COGAT said it would allow in "businessmen and others who want to improve and strengthen the economy, infrastructure and humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip". Launches have often been ascribed to radical Salafist groups.

The Israeli side usually blames the Palestinian Hamas movement, which rules the Gaza Strip, for the attacks carried out from the territory of the Gaza Strip.
