$393 Million Mega Millions Ticket Sold in Palos Heights, Illinois

A sole winning ticket worth an estimated $393 million ($247 million cash value) for the Friday, August 11, 2017, Mega Millions jackpot was sold at Nick's Barbecue in Palos Heights, Illinois.

Three people matched five numbers to win $1 million, but those tickets were sold in Washington, California and Ohio. The Washington ticket is worth $5 million because the victor chose to spend an extra dollar for the optional Megaplier, which was 5x, lottery offiicials said.

It's the largest jackpot Mega Millions has had in nearly a year, as well as the fifth-largest prize in the game's 15-year history. It's the first jackpot victor in Mega Millions since April 28.
