Tropical Storm Jose expected to become hurricane

Girardin said inhabitants of Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthelemy should prepare themselves for high winds, surging sea levels and waves when the hurricane strikes on Wednesday. Seven thousand National Guard members will be reporting for duty Friday morning to help with preparation efforts. The rain could cause unsafe flash floods and mudslides.
