In the midst of the hype around the iPhones launched by Apple at its event on Tuesday, the company also released the next version of their smartwatch, Series 3. Carriers are considering the watch's cellular plan an add-on to your existing contract.

According to Apple's statement, Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) will be available to order in 10 countries and territories, and Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS) will be available to order in 28 countries and territories from September 15.

Even if you are with EE there's also something else you should be aware of as it will add to your monthly mobile bill. To get the LTE connectivity, the display on this smart watch will act as an Antenna and uses the integrated eSIM.

It's important to note that with the launch of the Series 3, Apple has apparently discontinued the Apple Watch Series 2, which arrived a year ago. It also lacks a marketing name, but Apple developed its own mobile GPU for the iPhone 8 and iPhone X, a three-core beast that's supposed to deliver an even better performance than the iPhone 7's six-core GPU.

The most comforting news for all potential buyers is that Apple are bringing Amazon Prime Video to Apple TV, enabling users to enjoy Amazon Originals in their glorious 4K format, provided you're subscribed to Amazon Prime of course. On the flip side, as the southeastern USA gets hit by Irma, gas prices are likely to continue climbing throughout the region. Harvey also forced the temporary shutdown of the Colonial Pipeline, which delivers much of Georgia's gasoline.

Another very useful addition is the ability to "choose to receive a notification when their heart rate is elevated above a specific threshold while inactive".

The set-top box is a central part of Apple's strategy, but the company's aiming for much more than a slot underneath your TV. From all outward appearances, the Series 3 without a cellular connection is identical to the Series 2.

The new Apple Watch also arrives with new colors for the version of Nike+.

Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) also debuts "a special red Digital Crown and exclusive "Explorer" watch face that shows cellular connectivity through a unique design".

Apple will sell these two alongside the Series 1 Apple Watch, with a new starting price of $149/£149.

This new LTE feature works well on a new Watch Series 3 whether your iPhone is nearby or not. As usual, the Watch Series 3 offers health and fitness tracking features.
