Now, users will only be able to download music, movies, television shows, podcasts, and audiobooks from iTunes, according to Apple (aapl).

Apple has launched the new version of iTunes (12.7) for both Windows and macOS.

The biggest changes are coming to iPad users, though, with Apple introducing a new dock that can be accessed even when you're in an app, a Drag and Drop tool and wider support for the Apple Pencil.

This means that in order to buy an iOS app, you must do it on the iOS device itself. You can update to the new version from the Updates tab in the App Store app on your Mac.

When iTunes first launched over 15 years ago, it was just about music.

It's a simple process and will barely take a few minutes. It no longer has an App Store for your iPhone or iPad.

Apple's message to users who updated to iTunes 12.7. The update also makes some interface changes and does away with saving backups of the apps installed on your devices. You can also look forward to the new Files app, customizable Control Center, Voice translation, new app switcher, improved Live Photos and Portrait Mode, and slight tweaks to the UI design. Games and Apps on the new iOS 11 App Store will be more informative with support for more video demos, app ratings/rankings and age rating.

During its keynote event in Cupertino, Apple revealed that the iOS 11 update will be available for download for iPhone and iPad owners around the world starting September 19.
