Information will be available throughout the broadcast, but supporters can make donations via phone, text messaging, or online throughout the broadcast and up to one hour after the telethon ends. Bun B, a Houstonian and lecturer at Rice University, said he was trying to organize a local event through his contacts and recognized that Harvey was a broader tragedy.

The big four broadcast networks are on board with CBS, NBC, ABC, and FOX all planning to air the broadcast. The telethon will be live-streamed via Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, AOL, Huffington Post, Apple Music, and Yahoo.

The funds collected will benefit various charities providing aid to those affected by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma, which ripped through the Caribbean and Florida in the past week.

Other famous faces who appeared during the telethon included Ryan Seacrest, Justin Timberlake, Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Julia Roberts, George Clooney, Gwen Stefani, Dennis Quaid, Stephen Colbert, Diddy and Kerry Washington.

The telethon will air from Los Angeles, but there will be stages in NY and Nashville, Tennessee.

Over 2,000 call center volunteers stationed throughout the country will be on hand to take donations tonight. Actor Craig Robinson told ABC7: "The people calling in were pouring their hearts out on the phone and they were so special and so giving and so gracious".

Performances came from Stevie Wonder, Usher and Blake Shelton, and the hour wrapped with a performance from the Majestic in San Antonio with George Strait, Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, Robert Earl Keen and Lyle Lovett together singing "Texas".
