Arsenal brought in Alexandre Lacazette for a club record transfer from Lyon over the summer window, throwing Giroud's future into doubt.

Arsenal are used to juggling midweek fixtures with weekend ones, with the only difference being that they are in the Europa League rather than the Champions League this term.

The Arsenal manager said, "a few players have had some response to playing two worldwide games like Ozil and Ramsey, so they are rested completely". In a sporting way I wanted to stay at the Arsenal and I thought the story was not finished.

"Will he start? I give out my team tomorrow".

"We made 75 points a year ago and overall I am humble enough to be happy enough to win every single competition".

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger praised Giroud for the loyalty he's shown towards the club since joining from Montpellier in 2012 and recognised his contribution to the north London side as "tremendous".

Sunday's Premier League trip to Stamford Bridge could determine whether Bellerin is right to say that Arsenal can win the Premier League title.

"I have said many times that his contribution has been huge".

"He has shown a loyal spirit and has high respect from everybody at the club and the fans".

"This is a different competition and we want to win every competition we play in, but we don't calculate that this is the best way to the Champions League qualification".

While Lehmann insists the game can be separated from their poor league form, the 34-year-old admits Arsenal will still be strong despite the expected alterations to their starting line-up. "He was injured so was a bit behind, but now he is getting better". It's very nice for everybody.

"[The] Europa League is a very important competition for us". If he can keep calm and focus on his job then he is on a good way. "When you play Wednesday-Saturday it's similar to Thursday-Sunday".

Arsenal should come through the group stage fairly easily, and therefore there is a chance that fringe and youth players will feature more predominantly before the bigger names become involved in the knock-out rounds.
