Dismal Everton lack quality and come unstuck in Europa League against Atalanta

Everton fans were obviously not happy with what they saw from their side, with many taking to Twitter to slate numerous players on the field.

Hope has sprung eternal that United could sustain their strong early season form, although Jose Mourinho has never beaten Ronald Koeman as a manager in five meetings between the two.

Last season, after joining in the summer of 2016, Koeman lead the Toffees to seventh place in the table where they finished eight points behind their upcoming opponent Manchester United.

Despite contrasting starts to this season, Mourinho and Old Trafford appear to bring out the best in Koeman which is why the blue half of Merseyside may well be travelling back along the East Lancs Road on Sunday evening with a smile on their face.

There were no further goals but it was a shocking show the travelling 2,500 Everton fans did not deserve and next up is a daunting visit to in-form Manchester United on Sunday.

"But now other players have to stand up and we have the squad and the players to do that".

There is no balance or fluidity right now and the club are suffering following the sale of star man Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United. Our whole gameplan last season was to play to Lukaku's strengths and Calvert-Lewin is bloody big too.

It occurs in aftermath of a visit of iraqi prime minister, Haider Al-Abadi, in province of Dhi Qar, in particular, to Nasiriyya. It said several suicide bombers had staged the assault on a restaurant and a security checkpoint, killing "dozens of Shiites".

"I think Rom's a really nice guy, he's got his feet on the ground and he doesn't let anything faze him".

"[He has made] an easy interaction into our group and the way the team tries to play has a good relationship with his qualities as a player, he came at the right moment in his career".

"If we defend like we have the last few games, maybe it's his afternoon".

"Before the Spurs game [a 3-0 defeat at Goodison Park], you'd say it was an OK start, but the Spurs game was disappointing, the manner in which we lost".

Another issue that is beginning to become more prominent is whether we really are benefiting from playing Morgan Schneiderlin and Idrissa Gueye together. "I believe that we have the confidence to come out of this".

The home side dominated from the outset, taking the lead when Everton failed to deal with a corner, with the ball ricocheting off Phil Jagielka's hip and falling to Andrea Masiello to poke in.

"We've had some close encounters with United", he said. Rooney despite what many have said is still probably our most risky goal threat but the one big change that needs to happen is that Calvert-Lewin needs to start.
