Iran tests new ballistic missile with 2000km-range

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani vowed to defy Western pressure and boost the Islamic Republic's ballistic missile capabilities on Friday, making the comments the same day the country demonstrated their newest missile during a military parade. Iran showed off a new missile, named Khoramshahr after a southwestern city, at an anniversary military parade in the capital.

President Rouhani said: "We will promote our defensive and military power as much as we deem necessary".

As noted, that the missile flight range of 2 thousand kilometers capable of carrying multiple warheads.

"Khorramshahr with an effectual range and unique qualities features an agile missile", Brigadier General Amir Hatami was quoted as saying.

He also said Tehran will keep supporting the "oppressed people of Yemen, Syria and Palestine" — a reference to Iran's role in the wars in Yemen and Syria and its support for Palestinian militant groups such as Hamas.

"The ballistic missile that was sacked by Iran is not only a a provocation and a slap in the face for the United States and its allies - and an attempt to test them - but also further proof of the Iranian ambitions to become a world power and threaten countries in the Middle East all the the countries of the free world", Liberman said in a statement.

Iran unveiled a new ballistic missile Friday, showing off the weapon during a military parade in Tehran.

According to Tasnim news agency, the missile is able to carry a multiple independently tar reentry vehicle (MIRV) weighing 1,800 kilograms. "Iran is conducting a campaign of conquest across the Middle East and Iran is developing ballistic missiles to threaten the entire world".

"The ballistic missile will be operational in the near future". "As long as Iranians were barred from entering the USA, US citizens would be barred from entering Iran; as soon as the US lifts the ban, as it was forced to do at the end of February, Iran would respond in kind".

This was due to what was termed as a violation of the spirit of the 2015 agreement between Iran and six world powers to limit its nuclear programme in exchange for sanctions relief.

The Iranian president also reaffirmed his country's commitment to the nuclear deal. Following the test, the USA called for an emergency U.N. Security Council meeting, which was held on January 31, to discuss the matter.

Rouhani has stated that this Trump government is looking to get "an excuse" to get out from the landmark 2015- nuclear arrangement which topped Iran's atomic activities in substitution for the lifting of worldwide actions against Iran.
