Beyoncé releases surprise Mi Gente remix for hurricane relief efforts

Tidal, owned by husband Jay Z, is hosting a benefit concert on October 17 to raise funds for those affected by Hurricanes Maria and Harvey and the quake in Mexico. Her website says she donating proceeds from the song to hurricane and quake relief charities for Puerto Rico, Mexico and Caribbean Islands affected by recent storms. The song finds Bey providing some new Spanish and English lines over the familiar Latin tunes.

The single, a remix to J. Balvin and Willy William's "Mi Gente", is the 36-year-old vocalist's first new melody since inviting twins Rumi and Sir with spouse Jay-Z on June 13.

The song isn't exactly new; it's just a remix version of "Mi Gente" by J Balvin and Willy William, but her contribution to the track makes it feel fresher than ever. "To help go to", the pop star shares.

'There are many ways to help. These last few weeks, the west Indies and the Caribbean have been hard hit by hurricanes that have caused significant damage.


Puerto Rico was hit by Hurricane Maria, leaving all 3.5 million islanders without power.
