Kane: September probably the best month I´ve had

Tottenham come into the match following a 3-2 league win against West Ham and a midweek Champions League victory away to Apoel Nicosia.

Ben Davies made it 2-0, firing home after another slip-up from the unfortunate Loewe in the 23rd minute before Kane grabbed his second in spectacular fashion.

This will be the first Premier League meeting between the two sides.

Huddersfield Town is looking weaker than Spurs at present.

"If you look at the goals to games it's probably the best month I've had, especially after August", Kane said.

After nine minutes, Huddersfield's Chris Lowe was caught napping at the back, the England striker raced through on goal and calmly slotted past Jonas Lossl to put Spurs ahead. You know what happened next. His neatly clipped finish was a fine end to a move that combined brilliantly slick play and a spot of fortune.

Spurs were fortunate not to concede a penalty shortly after their second goal as Davinson Sanchez clumsily barged Elias Kachunga inside the area.

Kane grabbed his brace in the 23rd minute as he evaded the challenges of two markers and curled a left footer to the far corner.

A knee injury has kept Wanyama out for the last month but he could return after the upcoming global break.

Spurs eased off after the break but still managed a fourth when substitute Moussa Sissoko claimed his first for the club with a deflected effort from close range. Not that anybody will care too much, of course.

Chances were far fewer in the second period as Huddersfield laid out a tighter stall, but Spurs nearly added to their lead minutes after the restart when Eriksen's ball across the face of goal was inches away from picking out Kane in front of an empty net.

With 13 goals for club and country in the month of September, including seven in the past week, Tottenham striker Harry Kane's form is leaving his manager struggling for words. Anyone think he won't reach those numbers? In fact, "stand up if you love the Town" was the backdrop to much of the second half - something that, no doubt, heartened David Wagner as there will be more hard times when his side need this level of backing. Probably the only thing that will stop him from passing Greaves is, with apologies Spurs fans, if he leaves the club at some point. He does well to smother the ball at Kane's feet.

The 24-year-old has now scored 84 Premier League goals, equalling the tally reached by Cristiano Ronaldo for Manchester United.
