Security guard has set fire to the king: 4 children died

A security guard who worked for a day care center in the municipality of Janaúba, Minas Gerais, 554 kilometers away from Belo Horizonte, set fire to himself and to children while inside the establishment on the morning of Thursday (the 5th).

Around 50 people were injured in the incident where they were admitted to the local hospital.

Janauba's mayor decreed seven days of mourning.

A security guard at a day care center in Brazil started a fire killing four children and injuring nearly 30 others.

The attack which also injured 50 others has sent shockwaves throughout the country and indeed the world as all of the children killed in the attack were aged four.

"My little girl was so good, so smart", he said of his dead daughter Ana Clara Ferreira.

"I was thinking of changing nursery schools because we are preparing to move". The motive of the attack was unclear.

The campaign, which was plastered on the exterior and interior of a Times Square shuttle train, was created to provoke sports fans.

"I woke up early to drop him at the nursery", Jane Kelly da Silva Soares told the local O Globo newspaper.

Witnesses told media that the man, in his 50s, had been working as a night guard at the nursery for eight years.

While interrogation, Police officials found many alcohol bottles at his residence.

"This could have been worse because the babies' room was in the hall next door".

President Michael Temer tweeted: "I'm very sorry about this tragedy involving children in Janauba. I want to express my sympathy to the families".

As the father of a school-age child, Mr Temer said he understood "this must be an extremely painful loss" for the parents.
