Giants' Odell Beckham Jr. sustains potentially serious leg injury

Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham grabs his leg after suffering an injury.

First it was star receiver Odell Beckham Jr., down on the field in pain, close up cameras showing the anguish on his face as trainers loaded him onto a golf cart to attend to his injured left ankle. The scene itself was of OBJ in tears after players on the field called for medical attention immediately following a play in which he landed awkwardly on his left leg.

This comes after NY lost receivers Brandon Marshall, Sterling Shepard and Dwayne Harris earlier in the game.

Chargers: at Oakland next Sunday.

Beckham went down on a pass that fell incomplete with about 4 minutes left in the game, the Giants up 22-20 at the time. Ultimately, Beckham was lifted onto a cart and taken to the locker room for further evaluation.

A source told ESPN's Adam Schefter that Marshall suffered a sprained ankle.

Beckham had 97 yards on five catches and a touchdown in the loss.

Marshall, who was a key acquisition this offseason, had started the season slowly.

The Giants defense gave the lead right back on a 12-pay, 92-yard drive orchestrated by Rivers and Gordon, with Rivers finding tight end Hunter Henry for a 26-yard touchdown which put the Chargers up 17-16.
