The team announced on Monday that Odell Beckham Jr. and Dwayne Harris will have procedures to fix their fractures, one in Beckham's ankle and one in Harris' foot.

The team announced on its Twitter account that Beckham would undergo a surgery on the ankle he fractured during Sunday's 27-22 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in which the wideout had to be carted off the field.

The star receiver suffered the injury Sunday when he leaped for a fourth-quarter pass and came down awkwardly under the weight of Chargers defender Casey Hayward.

Speaking after the game, Manning said they'd tried to "simplify the game plan" once they were down to two receivers. It didn't explain the schedule change.

Even with three receivers down, the New York Giants were in position to win after Odell Beckham Jr.'s TD catch.

The Giants ended their game against San Diego with only one healthy receiver, Roger Lewis Jr. Beckham needed a season-ending surgery to fix his injury.

In each of his first three seasons, Beckham was named to the Pro Bowl and finished with at least 90 receptions, 1,300 yards and 10 touchdowns.

McAdoo knows the Giants (0-5) have basically no chance of making the playoffs for a second straight year.

There are plenty of wide receivers out there who are free agents or are on other teams' practice squads. For this type of injury, a full recovery is expected, although Ben McAdoo on Monday said, "That's unknown at this point". Levitz said that is not surprising, but insisted that the Giants doctors did nothing wrong in allowing Beckham to play. He lasted four years with the Broncos before being benched by former coach Josh McDaniels at the end of the 2009 season and traded to the Dolphins a few months later.
