Three killed in cylinder explosion in east Bengaluru

As Reports At least six persons were killed and some are feared trapped under two-storeyed building which collapsed due to a suspected LPG cylinder blast.

K.J. George said the government has made a decision to adopt the little girl and would take care of all her expenses.

Soonafter the incident, the fire brigade and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) had rushed to the spot and rescued people from the debris.

It was first thought a cylinder blast had caused the collapse but the Karnataka home minister Ramalinga Reddy seemed to refute the theory. They died on the spot while two children sustained injuries. The minor girl was rescued from the debris but she lost both her parents in the building collapse incident. They heard a blast and the 20-year-old building was reduced to a pile of rubble. "The building collapsed", an official from the Commissioner of Police office said.

"A compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to injured has been announced", said state development minister K.J George. The deceased have been identified as Kalavathi (68), Ravichandran (46), Prasad (18), Ashwini (28), Saravana (18), Maladri (25) and Sarva Kalyan (19). Everybody was asleep when the accident took place around 6.30-6.45am.

Gunesh had rented the building to four families, he added.

"Two families were residing in the ground floor while one was on the first floor". Almost 40 fire services personnel are carrying out the rescue operations.
