Padmavati launched Basanti's Biography 'Beyond The Dream Girl'

Hema Malini's biography, authored by Ram Kamal Mukherjee released last evening on her 69th birthday, and the grand event was attended by the crème of Bollywood. Moreover, talking about her latest upcoming film Padmavati, Deepika said that shooting for the film was quite exhausting for her. The first full-length biography of Hema Malini titled Beyond The Dream Girl will also be launched today.

Having started her film career in 1968 with Raj Kapoor-starrer "Sapno Ka Saudagar", she regaled movie buffs with roles in films like "Seeta Aur Geeta", "Sholay", "Dream Girl" and "Satte Pe Satta".

Hema Malini, who is a candidate in the Lok Sabha elections in Gurdaspur Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Punjab (1999), is at present a BJP MP from Mathura constituency.

The ageless talent has shared an insight into her life with Dharmendra as well as spoken on political figures like Modi, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, L.K. Advani and Sushma Swaraj.

The biography was launched by actor Deepika Padukone in the presence of Malini's family, including daughters Esha and Ahana Deol with their respective husbands.

She also said: "In the beginning, my parents did not support that, in the sense they wanted me to finish my studies, given the unpredictable nature of the profession, I chose". She further said that it was hard to find a partner who understands you. "I feel certain characters don't leave your system", she said.
