With stories about women allegedly harassed by Harvey Weinstein surfacing all around her, Oscar victor Lupita Nyong'o decided she couldn't keep her own story squashed down any longer.

In a New York Times op ed, Nyong'o recounts a story that she has been kept "far in the recesses of my mind". Dinner companions told her he was a good man to know in the biz, but someone to be "careful" around because he could be a bully, she wrote. Los Angeles police Capt. Billy Hayes confirmed that the department has launched an investigation into the matter. NY police already have two active sex crime probes and London's Metropolitan Police are investigating allegations made by three women.

"At an after-party, he found me and evicted whoever was sitting next to me to sit beside me", she wrote.

Many prominent women including House Speaker Laura Boldrini have supported Argento against the victim shaming and urged her to stay in Italy. Nyong'o's account has Weinstein introducing her to his children, then - in the middle of the film screening - having her follow him up to his bedroom where he asked her to give him a massage. Before long he said he wanted to take off his trousers.

The interactions that followed between her and the producer went back and forth between seemingly appropriate and uncomfortably inappropriate, Nyong'o said.

Lovato is putting it all out there and being open with her fans about all of her hardships, including having bipolar disorder. Working out is a form of meditation for me because I'm not focused on anything in my head.

"He got up anyway to do so and I headed for the door, saying that I was not at all comfortable with that", Nyong'o said. I speak up to make certain that this is not the kind of misconduct that deserves a second chance.

"When I arrived I was relieved to find another woman in his room and thought immediately I was safe".

Not long after they met, Weinstein called on Nyong'o to attend a film screening with him and his family, but when the vehicle showed up, he informed her that they would be eating lunch first. When she declined, Lupita was told to leave.

In her article, the 34-year-old also recalled feeling "unsafe" since meeting Weinstein during his first attempt to hit on her by suggesting a massage. He has been fired from The Weinstein Co., a TV and movie film production company he co-founded with his brother Bob. As soon as we were alone he began to brag about all the actresses he had slept with and how he had made their careers and spoke about other inappropriate things of a sexual nature. I was so hesitant about speaking out.I didn't want to hurt his family.
