Today, they traveled to Lambeau field to take on the Green Bay Packers, who were with superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers. But there is some newfound optimism in Green Bay on Sunday, with a report stating that Rodgers could be back before the regular season ends.

But the Jags' stifling defense dominated again. In fact, Brees racked up over 300 yards passing against the Packers secondary, and it was his drive late in the game that put this one away. All told, since streamlining the backfield, the Saints primary two backs have rushed for 351 yards and three touchdowns on 66 carries, and caught 17 passes for 103 yards. Alvin Kamara, meanwhile, has ripped off chunk plays, totaling 132 yards on the ground on 19 totes. The Packers couldn't afford the defense laying an egg on Sunday, and it did.

Hundley spent the week practicing with the first team offense in preparation for his first start. He finished 12 of 25 for only 87 yards with an interception and zero passing touchdowns as the Packers defense suffered. Stephen Hauschka tied an National Football League record as he made his 12th consecutive field goals from 50 yards or longer.

The loss spoiled the starting debut of third year pro Brett Hundley and dropped the Packers to 4-3 on the season heading into their bye week.

Penn State beats MI , 42-13
The Wolverines pieced together two touchdown drives and cut the deficit to 14-13 with 1:45 left in the half. The Lions got the ball back after a MI punt and needed four plays to score their second touchdown.

Saints coach Sean Payton knew what Ginn was capable of, and his role in the offense appears to be expanding. His quickness and vision gave the Saints trouble. Montgomery is a great example of someone who needs to step up in this offense with the absence of Rodgers, and hopefully he can work out what he needs to in order to get back to being the type of threat he proved to be the first two weeks of this season. Los Angeles has won five of its first seven games for the first time since 2003 the last time the Rams finished with a winning record.

- New Orleans dominated the second half, outscoring the Packers by 16 points.

It might not be quite so easy to sell the optimism this week, because while Hundley made a nice play on a 22-yard touchdown run, he was wholly ineffective as a passer.

A Green Bay mistake saved Ginn from making the kind of blunder that could have changed the entire tenor of the game. The big play was a 14 yard catch with a 15 yard horse collar penalty against linebacker A.J. Klein, a Kimberly high school product. While the Packers were conservative in what they wanted him to do, he showed flashes of top-tier ability.
