Man Dressed as Santa Opens Fire, Wounds 4 at Halloween Party

Police in Austin, Texas say a man dressed as Santa Claus shot four people at a Halloween party Sunday morning.

Police Detective Lee Knouse said amid a press instructions that four individuals were harmed in the shooting at a home at roughly 6:15 a.m. Sunday.

Austin-Travis County EMS said three of the victims were hospitalized. A third victim was described as a female in her 30s with serious, but non life-threatening injuries.

Police say the suspect was dressed as Santa Clause and is believed to be a known suspect.

He began shooting at a residence near East Koenig Lane and Avenue F, but was taken into custody at a second location where there were no reports of violence. A fourth person was hurt at the scene but refused treatment.

It's believed the shooter in this case acted alone, and police said they're not seeking any further suspects.

No charges have been reported as the investigation is still ongoing.
