Former DNC Chair Donna Brazile Accuses Clinton Campaign of Rigging Nomination Process

In an excerpt from her book that was provided to Politico, Brazile explains how she was tasked with investigating the DNC after hacked emails suggested the Clinton campaign fixed the nomination. Brazile, who stepped down from her interim post in 2016 amid revelations that she had provided Clinton with CNN debate topics ahead of time, was recently named to the DNC's Rules & Bylaws committee, which has sway over the party's primary procedures.

When I got back from a vacation in Martha's Vineyard I at last found the document that described it all: the Joint Fund-Raising Agreement between the DNC, the Hillary Victory Fund, and Hillary for America. Though this may seem unrelated, it has everything to do with what Brazile says she uncovered, which was "proof" of an agreement between the DNC and Clinton Campaign Manager Robby Mook, who agreed to help provide the DNC with funds to stay afloat. Clinton's campaign took on the DNC's $24 million debt by placing the party on an allowance, Brazile said.

"Individuals who had maxed out their $2,700 contribution limit to the campaign could write an additional check for $353,400 to the Hillary Victory Fund-that figure represented $10,000 to each of the thirty-two states' parties who were part of the Victory Fund agreement-$320,000-and $33,400 to the DNC", Brazile writes. "If the fight had been fair, one campaign wouldn't have control of the party before the voters had decided which one they wanted to lead". "This was not a criminal act, but as I saw it, it compromised the party's integrity".

I think what Donna Brazile just did not only took so much courage, it was a HUGE step toward healing a deep rift/wound from 2016. The reason for this state of affairs was that the #Hillary Clinton campaign, with the passive cooperation of #Debbie Wasserman Schultz, had seized control of the DNC and its fundraising apparatus and was using money usually reserved for down-ballot races for its own purposes.

"When I hung up the call to Bernie, I started to cry, not out of guilt, but out of anger", Brazile wrote.

Apple projects record holiday sales on iphone X demand
This quarter's earnings will give a glimpse into the first few weeks of sales for the iPhone 8, one of Apple's newest devices. Most Australians buyers are expected to buy the premium iPhone X on a contract, however, which could prove more challenging.

The excerpt acknowledges that both candidates signed fundraising agreements with the party, but indicates that Clinton's was different (Sanders also signed in 2015). 'Hello, senator. I've completed my review of the DNC and I did find the cancer, ' she says she told him.

This is also somewhat self-serving for Brazile, given the DNC continued to struggle during and after her tenure, especially financially.

In an interview with CNBC, Mr Perez said, "We're moving forward", when asked about the Ms Brazile's allegations.

The Democratic National Committee on Thursday dismissed Emily Mellencamp Smith, the party's finance director, in a bid to shake up leadership behind the party's fundraising efforts, sources told Politico. He didn't yell or protest, she said.

"What we've got to do as Democrats now is hold this party accountable", Warren said, adding that the current DNC chairman, former Labor Department Secretary Tom Perez is "being tested".
