New York City police confirm they are building a rape case against Harvey Weinstein.

De la Huerta, who has appeared in "A Walk to Remember" and the HBO drama "Boardwalk Empire", alleges Weinstein raped her in her apartment on two separate occasions in 2010.

Detectives say her story is believable and have corroborated parts of her story.

"This is the strongest case we've had that fits within the statute of limitations", the source said, adding some detectives believe they have enough evidence to arrest Weinstein. "As this is an active investigation, we will not be commenting further", a spokesperson for Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance's office said.

"We have an actual case here, so we are happy with where the investigation is right now".

On a November night, de la Huerta saw Weinstein at a hotel bar in Manhattan, according to the story, and he offered her a ride home.

"He pushed me on the bed. and it happened all very suddenly", she said. The "Walk To Remember" actress was 26 when she met Weinstein at a hotel in NY and he later demanded to go back to her apartment. A Weinstein spokesperson has "unequivocally denied" any accusations of non-consensual sex.

SC seek details of 1581 cases against politicians
Justice Gogoi said that the petition seeking swift trial of lawmakers has arisen because convictions are not taking place. SC wants to ensure that the corrupt politicians should not succeed in prolonging the trial by using their offices.

Police in London and Los Angeles are also investigating claims against the movie mogul.

In the past month, more than 60 women have come forward with allegations of sexual harassment or assault against Weinstein.

Officers said they had received "multiple complaints" about Weinstein, adding to investigations in the United Kingdom and elsewhere in the US.

"I was in no state", she said. Police investigated it as a possible case of forcible touching, a misdemeanor with a two-year time limit for bringing charges under NY law.

Manhattan district attorney's spokeswoman Joan Vollero says a senior sex crimes prosecutor has been assigned to the investigation, which is being conducted along with NY police.

"We immediately contacted the district attorney in NY and we started working the case together".
