A woman in Duncan, Oklahoma was jailed for 10 years in an incest case on Tuesday, 7 November, after she pleaded guilty to marrying her own biological mother.

"She tried to tell me that my grandmother tricked her into signing the adoption papers, you can't trick someone into signing the papers, she couldn't take care of us", Cody told KSWO.

Patricia and Misty were both arrested on September 12, 2016, after authorities discovered that the two were legally married.

Court records indicate Misty Velvet Dawn Spann, 26, was set for a bench trial Tuesday but instead entered a plea to illegally marrying 44-year-old Patricia Ann Spann, who is identified as Patricia Ann Clayton on their marriage license application filed in March 2016 in Comanche County.

Her mom told authorities that the pair reconnected in 2014 and "hit it off".

Patricia Spann said that she didn't think the nuptials broke any laws because she was no longer listed as a parent on her daughter's birth certificate.

After Misty was convinced, the pair married in March past year in Oklahoma.

Misty Spann and Patricia Spann were both charged with incest.

"We got told we actually had a real mom, so we wanted to know what she was about, the first thing she showed us she was about was trying to get in my brother's trousers", Cody added.

Patrica Spann is set to appear in court in January, 2018.

The 44-year-old also got married to her son in 2008 in Comanche County, however he filed for an annulment after 15 months.

The mother and daughter were attempting to adopt a child that they had guardianship over and believed their marriage would speed the process, Fox News reported.

The marriage between Misty and her mother was annulled October 12, six weeks after Misty filed for an annulment "by reason of illegality and fraud", the Tulsa World reports. "She forced my sister into this, there's a lot of people that know it", he told KWSO.
