Apple said that the issue will be resolved in the upcoming software update.

Nothing in Apple's support documentation suggests there are any other changes of note; for example, the security documentation says that the security content of iOS 11.1.1 is the same as that of iOS 11.1. iOS 11.1 fixed the serious KRACK Wi-FI vulnerability for some devices. Some users said they haven't experienced the issue, while others reported having the same problem: The iPhone X works fine indoors, but suddenly goes unresponsive when taken outside into cold weather. On Thursday, Apple had released iOS 11.1.1, an update that addresses an autocorrect bug that caused "i" to correct "A [?]" on some devices. One user just discovered the screen becomes unresponsive in cold weather.

According to the post on Reddit, the user states that it takes only a couple seconds for the screen to become unresponsive when going from a warmer to a colder climate.

Drinking alcohol has always been associated with various health hazards including development of cancers in the body. "The evidence is very clear", she said.

Ever since iOS 11.1 came out a week ago, many iPhone users complained about the glitch that automatically replaced a lower case "i" with odd characters in their pithy texts and social media posts. "I try swiping on websites and it doesn't register my finger", wrote Reddit user Darus214, adding later that the outside temperature was 50 degrees Fahrenheit when his handset became unresponsive. "After several seconds the screen will become fully responsive again", Apple said in a statement.

Apple also has some guidance on using iOS devices in low or high conditions and recommends keeping it at an ambient temperature of between 0C and 35C.

To update your phone with the new software, you must first connect your device to a WiFi network. Most probably, the fix will come in iOS 11.2, which is now under a beta testing.
