Roy Miller arrested on domestic battery charge

When Jackson Sheriffs' Office deputies arrived to a home in Jacksonville, Nicole Miller had suffered injuries to her face and neck.

More details pertaining to Miller's arrest have yet to be released. According to the police report, Miller's wife accuses him of dragging her by the hair, tearing a braid out of her head, and almost ripping off her shirt. Roy Miller also allegedly tossed her phone in the toilet and would not let her immediately retrieve it.

The witness then heard a door slam shut, and heard "thumping" coming from inside the room, as if someone was being hit, and heard Nicole tell Roy not to hit her again. He agreed to speak with an officer outside the house and was arrested.

"This morning we were informed about an incident involving one of our players, Roy Miller", the Chiefs said in a statement Saturday. "We are still in the process of gathering details on the situation".

Miller appeared in court Saturday afternoon and released on his own recognizance.

He was cut from the roster in March and now plays for the Kansas City Chiefs. He was picked up in Jacksonville after leaving the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2013. They declined any further comment.

If the Chiefs decide to part ways with Miller, they will be losing a seldom-used run defender who came in as a veteran and former team leader with the Jaguars.

The Chiefs signed Miller back in August.
