Trump says he should have left UCLA players in jail in China

LiAngelo Ball, brother of Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball, was one of the three UCLA basketball players detained in China on suspicion of shoplifting before Trump helped return them to the United States. In response, Trump slammed Ball for being ungrateful and actually said, "I should have left them in jail".

Ball and his teammates were suspended indefinitely, and that appeared to be the end of the controversy - until LaVar insisted Friday that he wasn't ready to give Trump full credit for his son's release.

"What was he over there for?"

CNN's Brian Stelter went off on President Trump this afternoon for his tweet hitting back at LaVar Ball. I want to put it on the table.

President Donald Trump used his Twitter platform Sunday to attack the father of a basketball player released from detention in China. "Also, the US President should never wish for Americans to be locked up in a foreign jail", Lieu tweeted.

Wind, snow to hit the region
For Sunday , we can expect showers, mainly before 10 a.m., and temperature will be falling into the mid-40s by 5 p.m. Skies will be partly-mostly sunny through the afternoon, with temperatures running about 10 degrees below average.

Upon their return stateside, LiAngelo Ball, Cody Riley, and Jalen Hill held a press conference, at which Ball thanked the president and the United States government for their help in their safe return after Trump wondered on Twitter if he would receive praise for his work in getting the young men back home. "Be careful, there are many pitfalls on the long and winding road of life!"

The players faced potential jail sentences for shoplifting from a Louis Vuitton store in the country, however Trump reportedly spoke to Chinese President Xi Jinping about the matter. Like I told him, 'They try to make a big deal out of nothing sometimes.' I'm from L.A. After Trump brought up the players' arrests, Xi said he would look into the case, and ensured that the three would be treated fairly.

Trump, a braggart and reality show star like Ball, did not take kindly to this.

The three players, including Liangelo Ball, were arrested for alleged shoplifting last week. It sure looks like race baiting to a lot of people. "I've seen a lot worse things happen than a guy taking some glasses", he said.
