The 23-year-old revealed he was missing his childhood sweetheart Ellie Woods after dance partner Lindsay Arnold revealed her husband Sam Cusick was right beside her the whole season to reporters following the finale.

Violinist and composer Lindsey Stirling and Mark Ballas finished second, and child actor/race-car driver Frankie Muniz and Witney Carson placed third. Both Fisher and Arnold nursed injuries this season but performed through the pain on more than one occasion to bring home the Mirror Ball.

Fisher and Arnold were big fan favorites and front-runners for most of the season after receiving five ideal scores from the judges through the semi-finals.

Zanu-PF MPs summoned over Robert Mugabe impeachment
The party's deputy secretary for legal affairs Paul Mangwana is speaking to reporters as ruling party lawmakers gather. More than 200 out of the 300-strong member central committee attended yesterday's meeting to decide Mugabe's fate.

Two weeks ago, Fisher had a scratched cornea, while Arnold injured her leg.

"Your skills are just ridiculously out of this world", judge Carrie Ann Inaba raved to Fisher after his final performance with his partner, Lindsay Arnold. But they recovered to get flawless scores for four dances over two days to end the show. And in the last element of competition, the couples will perform a new routine as part of a "24-Hour Fusion Challenge", in which they will each fuse two contrasting dance styles, and they'll have less than 24 hours to prepare. Stirling, who overcame her eating disorder, recalled on camera, crying, "It was the darkest time of my life", and said she turned to her Mormon faith to get back her feeling of self-worth. "He came straight to me and gave me the biggest hug".

Muniz loves the show so much he'll be joining Fisher and his pro dancer Arnold on the upcoming "DWTS" tour which will travel to cities across the country.
